The Contingency and Inevitability of Li Keqiang’s Death

On October 26, 2023, former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang passed away at the Shanghai East Suburb Guesthouse at the age of 68. The Chinese Communist Party officially announced it as an unexpected event triggered by a heart attack.

Why did Li Keqiang die unexpectedly? In reality, this randomness merely reflects the inevitability of Li Keqiang’s death. In other words, the tyrant Xi Jinping wanted Li Keqiang dead, and it was inevitable that Li Keqiang would die; the only question was when and where. Why did Xi Jinping insist on Li Keqiang's death? Because Xi Jinping is the most ignorant and incompetent leader in the history of the Chinese Communist Party. He cannot tolerate an elite figure who outshines him. His predecessor, Hu Jintao, graduated from the prestigious Tsinghua University, a level of education that the elementary-educated Xi Jinping cannot compare with. The founding father of the CCP, Mao Zedong, graduated from Hunan First Normal School with a profound knowledge of traditional Chinese culture, which is unmatched by Xi Jinping, who is ignorant of traditional Chinese culture. Under the despotic rule of this tyrant, China faced political instability, deteriorating international relations, economic decline, and shifting public sentiment. It was during this time that Li Keqiang, highly educated and widely respected, emerged as the preferred candidate to replace Xi Jinping in the eyes of the Chinese people. Li Keqiang, a top student from China's best university, Peking University, earned a degree in law school and pursued master's and doctoral studies at the School of Economics. His doctoral thesis, "On the Triple Structure of China's Economy," won the highest award in the Chinese economics community—the Sun Yefang Economics Prize. The significance of this thesis lies in challenging the authority of the dual economic structure theory proposed by the British economist Arthur Lewis in the international economic community. Li Keqiang's work clarified that China's economy has a triple structure, sparking a wave of research on the topic. In 2007, during his tenure as the Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, he assessed the economic situation of Liaoning Province through three indicators: electricity consumption, railroad freight volume, and loan disbursement. This was later named the Keqiang Index (IK = 40%E + 25%V + 35%L) by The Economist, a leading British political and economic magazine, as an indicator for assessing China’s GDP growth. The "Keqiang Index" was quickly recognized by a number of international institutions. Banking giant Citigroup uses it to compare industrial corporate profits, arguing that it has greater explanatory power. After becoming the Premier in 2013, Li Keqiang vigorously promoted his economic policies: Gradual reduction of state-led investment without implementing stimulus policies. Deleveraging by significantly reducing debt and lowering the debt-to-output ratio. Implementation of economic structural reforms by delegating power to the market and providing incentives. International Barclays Capital summarized his economic development approach as "Likonomics." However, Xi Jinping is afraid of Li Keqiang's influence and has established multiple central leadership groups to guide the work of the State Council, depriving the State Council of its power to formulate policies and suppressing Li Keqiang's ability to display his talents. On October 16, 2022, Xi Jinping, who had abolished term limits for re-election as party leader, eliminated Li Keqiang, Wang Yang, Hu Chunhua, and other political elites who have not reached retirement age from the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. On March 2, 2023, Li Keqiang delivered a farewell speech to the members and staff of the 13th State Council, urging them to "embrace the world, care about the people, and prioritize the overall situation," stating that "the people are working, heaven is watching, and heaven has eyes." Why did Xi Jinping decide to ruthlessly act against a retired civilian like Li Keqiang at this time? The recent overwhelming popularity during Li Keqiang's vacation in Gansu posed a crisis for the authoritarian leader, who was surrounded by internal and external difficulties. In a video leaked in September of this year, Li Keqiang's lively demeanor during his visit to the Mogao Caves on August 30 was evident. (video of visiting Mogao Caves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAvNZAr989M) He was warmly welcomed by the surrounding people, who still regarded him as the premier of the people. This contrasted sharply with the disdain and hatred the people had for Xi Jinping, putting Xi Jinping in an uncomfortable position. After his trip to Gansu, Li Keqiang rested at the Shanghai East Suburb Guesthouse and died the next day due to a heart attack, triggering nationwide condemnation. Myocardial infarction is not dangerous as long as it is treated within the 6-hour golden time. Reperfusion treatment within 72 three hours significantly reduces the infarct size, and timely stent placement within six hours is also effective. As a retired national-level leader, Li Keqiang should have had a medical team ready to care for him. However, in the leaked ambulance video, there were no doctors involved in the rescue; only a nurse accompanied him. Wasn't this tantamount to abandoning him and letting him die? Official media reported that he was immediately taken to Shanghai Shuguang Hospital for rescue, and he was declared dead 10 hours later. This is just a little-known traditional Chinese medicine hospital, not included in the ranking of China's top 100 famous hospitals, and it is 5.5 kilometers away from the East Suburb Guesthouse. On the other hand, the nearby Huashan Hospital, Affiliated with Fudan University, is only 2.8 kilometers away from the Guesthouse. Huashan Hospital is the eighth top-ranked hospital in China and is the most famous and internationalized medical teaching and research center in China, with its cardiovascular department being a national key discipline. Their so-called rescue effort seemed more like waiting for Li Keqiang's vital signs to disappear completely before reporting to Xi Jinping.

Why did Li Keqiang have to die in Shanghai? For recuperation, Li Keqiang could have gone to the picturesque Yunnan or Guangxi; for retirement, he could have returned to his hometown, Anhui, or to his wife Cheng Hong's hometown in Henan. Both places held sentimental value for him. During his diligent efforts in his seven years as the Party Secretary of Henan, the province's economic output jumped to the fifth in the nation, leading among the central and western provinces. However, Shanghai is the stronghold of the old and new Shanghai gangs, equipped with a powerful intelligence system, advanced intelligence equipment, and a large number of ruthless assassins. Because I constantly publicized the concepts of freedom, justice, and reform and opened up in the media, frequently discussed translation issues arising from foreign books with foreign experts, and cooperated with enterprises in Shanghai on political reform experiments, I was brutally persecuted by the CCP as a foreign spy. They killed a large number of innocent civilians, including my parents, wife, brother, relatives, mentors, students, friends, and business partners. My father, aunt, several uncles, and my wife's sister-in-law were killed on the grounds of a heart attack. My younger brother and my uncle's youngest daughter-in-law were stuffed into my brother's car and sank into the Center River in my hometown. My mother, my wife, my wife's sister, my wife's brother, my wife's nephew, a number of village cadres, and many of my friends and relatives died suddenly after being poisoned by the CCP. In Youjian Village, Chenhang Township, where I once worked, village secretary Qian Linfang’s husbands, village head Kang Longxing, and his younger brother Kang Xiumei were all poisoned to death by the CCP. The most miserable among them was Qian Linfang, whose husbands were both killed by the CCP with poison. After killing her first husband, they created the illusion that he crashed on a steel slag heap. Later, they arranged for a man to marry her, and since he didn't find any evidence of me being a spy, they directly poisoned him to death in Qian Linfang's house. My mentor and friend, Prof. Zhu Wen, dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature at Shanghai Normal University, was also poisoned to death by them on the grounds of heart disease. My pen pal Gu Xusheng, the literary editor of the Jiefang Daily supplement, immediately fainted and fell to the ground with a glass after drinking a beverage prepared for him by State Security agents when he returned home from an interview in Xinjiang. Another friend of mine, Jia Ankun, a leader of the Shanghai Municipal Publication Bureau and Jiefang Daily, was not killed directly. They first used poison to make him show symptoms of cardiovascular disease and then poisoned him to death on the grounds of recurrence and ineffective rescue. Chinese Communist agents also killed two of my business partners. Sun Linqiao, chairman of Shanghai Zhongyi Group, died instantly after eating their poisonous food. They staged an air crash and killed another of my partners, Zhang Pilin, the office director of the Liaoning Textile Import and Export Company, and accused him of blowing up China Northern Airlines Flight 6136 to fraudulently claim 1.4 million yuan in insurance money (about 170,000 US dollars).

Over the years, I have continuously investigated the victims' families and fought against the Chinese Communist regime to seek justice for the victims and obtain the compensation they deserve (so far, only a small number of family members have received negligible compensation from the Shanghai authorities). However, due to my limited ability and financial resources, coupled with the strong interference of the CCP, I am still unable to contact many of my relatives and friends who have interacted with me. For many years, I have been pleading with people from all walks of life to build a memorial park honoring the innocent victims of the "Shanghai Massacre," so that the families of the deceased can be consoled and the souls of the victims can rest in peace. I sincerely ask you to do the same here. Li Keqiang, upon leaving politics, advised his colleagues to do good deeds, saying, “As the heavens have eyes.” However, he did not complete the second part: 'Evil deeds will be repaid when the time comes!' Over the years, Xi Jinping, ignorant and fearless, has spread lies and committed heinous acts. He dared to defy the world, amending the constitution to abolish term limits and undoing the efforts of all his predecessors, including Tan Sitong, to overturn the feudal lifelong system. He betrayed the CCP's promise of 'one country, two systems for 50 years' to Hong Kong, implementing the national security law on June 30, 2020, destroying this international financial center and closing the window of China's external communication. He killed numerous advocates for freedom, democracy, and justice, brutally suppressing democratic activities across the country. He murdered Liu Xiaobo, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and one of the Four Gentlemen of the Tiananmen Square democracy movement. He continued to imprison and kill human rights lawyers and many journalists and writers who dared to speak the truth. To this day, he still detains those who bravely protested against the CCP, advocating for freedom and justice during the White Paper Movement. Since usurping power, Xi Jinping has brought calamity to the nation and the people, and the list of his misdeeds is endless. Only by bringing this dictator and executioner to justice can the Chinese people be free from the tyranny of this gang, and there can be hope for the revival of Chinese civilization.

Let's look at China today; who ultimately governs this country?

Li Keqiang’s Peking University classmates wrote an elegiac couplet in memory of him:

Compensation for ten years of caution, although clean, lives a stifled;

A step away from, but the rush to retreat, even died in a wimpy.

Horizontal scroll: Powerless.

I also compose an elegiac couplet here to commemorate this former prime minister who died unjustly:

Served for two terms, although under Xi’s constraints, still created Likonomics;

Once idle, he drank hemlock and went away, leaving broken blueprints in vain.
